ISIR is developed as a large-scale didital library. A logical unit of the information kept in a digital library is named a digital object or a resource. The system is developed as a distributed information system that means both the distributivity of the information itself, and the distributivity of the system administration. The user interface to the current system is implemented as a reference book of the RAS RU. At the moment the main resource types are organizations of the RAS, persons, publications and projects.
